NORTH SHORE KIDS™
YOUR GUIDE TO EVERYTHING KIDS
Welch Strip Playground
low crowds | low traffic caution | nearby traffic | baby swings
This little playground can be easy to miss, which makes it nice and very tranquil. Located on Welch Street, west of Pemberton but just behind the thick treeline, you could easily drive past it a hundred times without ever seeing it.
The thick stand of trees in this park, known as Welch Strip, provides a great sound barrier and protection from the traffic on busy Welch Street. The playground has two swings: one regular and one baby. The play structure is great for climbers and hangers, and with three slides, it can be a ton of fun for the bigger kids. Toddlers may need lots more help here.
There is also a fun structure where kids can measure themselves or see how high they can reach!
Parking is only on the street and you will have to pay close attention to your kids, as there is no fencing separating the playground from Pinewood Crescent to the north.
The playground is located right next to the tennis courts and connects to the Spirit Trail. There are some magnificent huge trees just past the tennis courts that can also be a lot of fun to explore.
This is the perfect adventure just before sneaking across Welch Street for some of our favourite tacos on the North Shore at La Taqueria.
