This neighbourhood playground sits on a large grassy field in the quiet Garibaldi Park in North Vancouver (not to be confused with the namesake Provincial Park up near Whistler).  It has all the basics you need in a playground, and the park itself, with its tranquil setting and a nice garden, make for an overall pleasant visit.

The playground has a climbing pyramid, and two metal climbing/sliding structures - one for toddlers and one for older kids.  In addition, you can find a seesaw, rockers, and a couple of swings (one regular and one baby).

The playground is fairly close to the road, but the road is not busy and there is a fence between the park and the street.  The other three sides of the playground are not fenced, but open onto the rest of Garibaldi Park.

The large grass field is perfect for ball games or running around, and you can also check out the sports court.  For an additional nature study, you can amble through the community garden, or head over to the gravel path that snakes around the perimeter of the park and even find your way down to the creek at the edge of the park.  The south side of the park backs onto the woods, which, although behind a fence, adds to the peaceful setting.

If you are driving, there is ample street parking.  Closest transit is on Mt. Seymour Parkway, and you can walk down from the bus stop at Parkgate Shopping Centre.
